Politicians, INEC Staff, Journalists Held Hostage At Collation Centre As Thugs Wreck Havoc With Local Bombs

The inability of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to declare the Governorship election results in Yola, Adamawa State’s capital, has caused chaos in the state.

WITHIN NIGERIA understands that political thugs and miscreants have unleashed terror attacks and other criminal tendencies on the citizenry of the state.

The problem started at the INEC Collation Center after the Returning Officer, Professor Mohammed Mele, announced that the results would be announced on Monday morning at around 1 a.m.

When word of the postponement reached the state capital, hundreds of thugs took over strategic locations to attack innocent citizens and passers-by, motorists, and other committees.

Politicians, journalists, INEC staff, and others at the Collation Centre are being held hostage at the INEC headquarters because no one dares to leave.

Only the Service Commanders were able to smuggle themselves back to their homes, while others who were at INEC on election duty were held hostage.

Even though they are armed to the teeth with guns and other dangerous weapons, the hoodlums used petrol bombs.
